This framework expands on the popular CASEL model so that SEL is more culturally appropriate and addresses skills and perspectives much needed in this time. This includes ethics, integrity, our shared humanity and spirituality – which covers meaning and purpose. There is also a dimension on positivity – ways of being in the world that facilitate resilience, a positive sense of self and playfulness. The assessment framework is based on observations of social and emotional development for years 2,6,9 and 12.
